Wuxi Camphor Garden Residence – Vertical Blinds
This project is located in Wuxi, adjacent to Li Lake, an extension of Taihu Lake. The geographical location is pleasant, and the surrounding environment is peaceful and comfortable, making it an ideal place for a leisurely lifestyle. The exterior of the building features a rare all-glass curtain wall design, resembling that of a commercial skyscraper, creating an exceptional 270-degree panoramic view indoors. To ensure an unobstructed view, vertical blinds were chosen as one of the optimal solutions for sun shading.
Designer Ju Bin provided a brilliant description of the spatial design: “The invisible charm in the space is the essence of design inquiry. The beauty presented by Qi and the quality expressed by Yun need the physical construction results to attach to.” The presentation of the spatial charm reflects the personality of the homeowner, making understanding the homeowner an indispensable part of the design process.
The homeowner is a successful business professional, characterized by competence, simplicity, a lack of fussiness about details, and a touch of casual and carefree qualities. In this space, his temperament is fully displayed. The entire top-floor duplex has a nearly 6-meter-high ceiling and a 270-degree panoramic view. Walking from the entrance to the living room requires crossing a five to six-meter corridor, giving a feeling of “narrow at first, only for one person to pass; after walking dozens of steps, suddenly broadening.” During this process, you can feel the surprises brought by changes in scale and the variations in light as it passes through the vertical blinds, creating an atmosphere that is transparent, bright, and relaxing.
